Jackson Jekyll and Frankie Stein Picnic Casket Doll Set – Are Sparks Flying Between Them?
I opened my Picnic Casket Frankie Stein and Jackson Jekyll Monster High doll set today. I love the sets that have a boy and girl. Since I don't have any of the original boys and they are so expensive now I'm making sure I buy the ones that are being released now. This set became available for sale in January 2014 and I was able to find mine pretty soon afterwards. You can also find them on using the link below.

Jackson and Frankie have always had feelings for each other but they haven't been explored in the webisodes because Frankie is always in a relationship with Hold Hyde (same person). Now this Picnic Casket doll set comes out and they are picnicking together.
The back of the box reads "It's a bootiful day for a picnic so Frankie and Jackson have thrown together a casket full of goodies and they're off to find a nice spot that's quiet, shady, and music free. Is this just a friendly get together for lunch or is there a real spark in the air between these two fangtastic friends?" I assume the reference to being music free is because Hold Hyde, Jackson's alter ego is a Disc Jockey.
A close up of the faces and accessories before they come out off the cardboard insert. Those two green things are evidently some spider pastries. And they each have their own water bottle. There is also a coffin shaped picnic casket that you'll see farther down the page.
Here are the pair on their stands. Jackson is really easy to make stand up, but Frankie takes a little more effort.
The back of Jackson's sweater. It's a two-tone grey checkered pattern. And shocking yellow pants. The last time I saw yellow pants like that they were on REO Speedwagon's Kevin Cronin at a concert. Wow! Bright yellow.
Jackson has the typical jointed body of all Monster High boy dolls.
He's got blue eyes and black hair with a yellow streak in front.
Notice the yin yang tattoo on his back. Holt has the same tattoo of course.
Oh the hair! It's awful. Here's a look at the back which I mussed up a little so you could see all the product in his hair. Is that really necessary Mattel? He got a shampoo before I went any further.
Jackson Jekyll, sans hair goo. Love the yellow angular nerdy eyeglasses. He's got a pierced eyebrow. Trendy for teens I suppose.

And here's Frankie Stein. She's not too different from other Frankie incarnations. Green skin, electric bolts, stitches in several places, different colored eyes. She's got a yellow streak in her hair too in this version.
Oops one very long strand in the back. Most of her hair has the normal salt and pepper coloring.
Frankie Steins one piece dress is sleeveless with a little yellow Peter Pan collar and a bow in front. Her jewelry is limited to the bright yellow lightning bolt earrings.
And the dress closes with Velcro in back.
In this closeup you get a good look at her blue and green eyes and her coordinating eyeshadow. She wears bright pink lipstick.
Other than the stands, these are the accessories that come with the set. The green pastries are topped with a spider goodie on the top. Yum. And the cute casket shaped picnic basket opens on each side of the handle but not at the same time. It will hold their water bottles but not the snacks.
Here is the pair enjoying the warm sunshine and getting to know each other better.
